How to choose a glass industry lubricant.
Container and tableware glass plants use a family of lubricants found nowhere else: swabbing compounds for the blank and blow moulds of an IS machine, shear sprays for the gob shears, delivery lubricants for the scoops and troughs, cold end coatings applied after the lehr to protect the bottle surface, and cutting fluids for flat glass. Each must work at glass temperatures, leave no defect on the ware and keep the machine running between swabs.
