How to choose a aviation lubricant.
Aviation lubricants are made and approved to military and aerospace specifications, MIL-PRF, SAE AMS and the airframe and engine makers' own, so that every batch is traceable and behaves the same at altitude, in the cold and under the loads of landing gear and flight controls. The family covers turbine engine oils, hydraulic fluids, airframe greases, instrument oils and the specialised greases of ground support equipment.

Picking the right grade
- The specification
- Everything on an aircraft is bought against a specification in the maintenance manual: MIL-PRF-23827 or 81322 for greases, MIL-PRF-5606 or 83282 for hydraulic fluid, MIL-PRF-23699 for turbine oil. Quote the specification and the approved product list.
- Traceability
- Aviation products come with batch certificates. Tell us if you need certificates of conformance with the delivery.
- Ground equipment and machining
- Ground support equipment and aerospace machine shops use the industrial ranges, with aerospace-approved cutting fluids such as Castrol Syntilo 9913 for aluminium and titanium parts.
